4001 GTX TEST ON ILLIMANI | With OutdoorTest, to the conquer of the West ridge
In OutdoorTest, the web portal dedicated to testing on the field all materials for outdoor activities, product tests are really important.
That's why, to examine thoroughly the features and the performances of our model 4001 GTX, a structured, highly technical mountaineering boot with a degree of thermal insulation superior to the norm, they brought the boots to the Andes, to the conquest of an inviolate peak.
In fact, since last 17 July, the tester Riccardo Stacchini and his group of mountaineers are in Bolivia to attack one of the most evocative mountains of the whole Royal Cordillera of the Andes: the Illimani. The expedition aims to reach the summit of the west ridge of the mountain, a goal that is still never completed, to then cross to the central peak and then close the adventure on the top of the mountain, the South, at an altitude of 6438 meters.
A truly remarkable challenge, which subjects our shoes to an important stress in all the situations for which they are designed: glacier and ice crossing, climbing on ice and snow, high altitude trekking. Thanks to the particular construction, the model 4001 GTX guarantees a unique versatility, above all for the lightness that makes it one of the least heavy products on the market.
Good luck to Riccardo and his team, who have in these days completed the acclimatization phase and are now leaving for the attack on the summit.
