6001 GTX | Challenging the highest altitudes
Mountaineering in the Himalayas has experienced a real boom in recent years, thanks to the media exposure received by the feats of some famous climbers, and of course the possibility of sharing experiences through social networks and tools such as the Internet.
Kayland has always been involved in the world of alpine exploration even at the highest altitudes. For this reason, the 6001 GTX boot was developed, a concentrate of technology nand performance that represents a real innovation for the category of technical alpinism and expeditions.
The construction is based on two main concepts: lightness and performance. Therefore, the use of ultra-technical and resistant materials, really cutting edge in the sector, is required to allow the achievement of the objectives and the high quality standards. The inner shoe is lined with the Gore-Tex® Insulated Duratherm membrane, the non plus ultra of the thermal insulation, which allows the foot not to disperse its warmth, even in the presence of extremely rigid external temperatures. The zip closure of the upper is practical and fast, while the reinforcement in the ankle area supports the foot and keeps it in the most correct position during the climb. The insole in carbon fiber, for optimal torsional rigidity, is coupled with an aluminum layer to further increase thermal insulation. An anti-abrasion rubber band wraps 360 ° the upper made in synthetic resistant fabric. The sole is a precise and compact ensemble of technicality and performance: the Smart PU midsole is designed to provide stability on all types of terrain and to allow the precise use of automatic crampons, thanks to the TPU inserts on toecap and heel. The Vibram® Teton sole is the reference point for mountaineering at high altitude, with 7 mm high lugs and a compound specifically designed for expeditions on icy and rocky terrain.
