APEX EVO GTX | Four-season expeditions

Apex Evo GTX by Kayland is a mountaineering boot designed to be used during all seasons, for expeditions at altitudes below 4000 meters, challenging backpacking for several days, with heavy loads, mountain activities. Thanks to its robust and lightweight construction, it is versatile and precise in all applications, making it the ideal choice for an advanced alpinist.

Designed by the R&D department of Kayland to have a functional but at the same time sleek design, Apex Evo GTX features an upper with integrated gaiter from the instep, a key factor to protect against infiltrations, especially of ice and snow, towards the foot. The microfiber is coupled with a high rubber band that wraps the boot 360 degrees, providing appropriate resistance against abrasion, bumps and obstacles during the ascent. The lacing extended to the tip allows an instant and practical of the fit, at any time, and integrates the K-Smart closure system, which combines waterproof laces and adjustment zipper of the gaiter. To increase the level of thermicity and comfort of the shoe, the Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane is used, providing waterproofness and at the same time an effective foot transpiration.

The fiberglass insole allows a safe use of semi-automatic crampons, while the complex wedge, in polyurethane and TPU insert on the heel, ensures excellent adaptability on all terrains, with cushioning of impacts with the ground and the right degree of torsional rigidity. The Vibram New Mulaz sole represents the status quo for this category of boots: thanks to the specific design for high mountains and the use of a particular hyper-adhering compound, it provides constant and precise traction on all surfaces, even humid and rough.
