Sometimes a hiking and backpacking boot may not be sufficient to tackle challenging mountaineering routes, and at the same time, specific footwear for expeditions may be overly heavy for common activities. Kayland has reflected on this specific need, thus creating a crossover boot that accurately combines technical details and strength typical of a mountaineering boot, with the lightness, compactness and versatility of a backpacking shoe.
Cross Mountain GTX is precise, with sleek and essential lines but at the same time functional to the activity in the mountains; the technical last is designed for prolonged use over time and to give maximum precision during movement, while the upper is built in suede leather and synthetic material with high resistance to abrasion, with a rubber band that wraps around the shoe at 360 degrees and effectively protects from bumps, rock spikes and other obstacles that may occur on the way. Ankle support is perfect and safe thanks to the Ankle Lock Technology system, exclusive to Kayland. The Gore-Tex membrane guarantees waterproofness and breathability even in the most extreme weather conditions.
The sole block provides adequate stability, correct traction and adherence on all surfaces, as well as allowing an efficient dissipation of impacts with the ground thanks to the presence of two-density microporous wedge. The insole has the right degree of rigidity to allow the use of semi-automatic crampons. The Vibram Mulaz Evo outsole is made with a specific compound for multi-terrain activity in the mountains, and features a lug design projected to provide maximum traction in every situation, even in the case of undergrowth, scree and muddy terrain.
