DENIS URUBKO | Plans for the year
2019 promises to be full of events and activities for our Denis Urubko, fresh from the expedition to Patagonia in January and in preparation for a new attempt at the first winter ascent to K2, scheduled for next February, which will follow the expedition to Broad Peak, also on the Himalayan terrain.
Denis will be busy, in the coming weeks, with several presentations of the new edition of his book "Snow Leopard 99", a volume dedicated to his feat achieved in 1999, when with a team of mountaineers he faced and reached the summit of five seven thousand Russian peaks during just 42 days.
In summer, the very strong Russian-Polish mountaineer will once again face an eight thousand, more precisely the Gasherbrum II, the thirteenth highest peak on the planet, which in 2011 was conquered by Denis in the first ever winter ascent.
We will then have the pleasure of meeting Denis at the Frasassi Climbing Festival, at the beginning of September, in one of the most important European climbing events, with events and conferences related to the world of mountaineering and climbing.
The year will close, just before the departure once again for the Karakorum and the preparation for the first winter ascent of K2, with the presence of Denis at the most important event of the Polish Alpine Club, the annual festival scheduled in the tourist city of Karpacs at the end of November.
