Kayland Enthusiasts | Peter Matura, from Zermatt (Switzerland)

We start this week a new chapter of Kayland stories, in which we get the words from the protagonists of the mountains, truly in love with our products, with a great passion and feeling for products and their use.
First of all, let’s introduce Peter Matura, a mountain guide from Zermatt, who sent us some lines about his experience with products, life and mountains.
Hello there, my name is Peter Matura, I have a university background in the field of Physics. I became a professional
Mountain Guide in 2005, before I worked like a professional rescuer in the mountains. I’ve been working for the Alpine Zentrum Zermatt Guide Office since 2006. During the winter season, I usually work in Verbier with ADRENALINE Guide office; mostly we go for heli-skiing. On a year base, I collect more than 100 ascents in the mountain, I’ve been nearly 100 times on Matterhorn... Mountain Guiding is my main activity, whereas most of my free time I climb, reaching the 8a grade. I speak French, English, Russian.
I really wanted to thank Kayland for the support with the Cross Mountain GTX, the shoes I got before jumping into the summer season in Zermatt. I have a nice time, good season in very good conditions. With Kayland shoes I was on the top of Matterhorn 11 times. These shoes give me a good feeling also on the rocks and snows surfaces. The other boots I used, the VERTIGO K MID GTX are just perfect, there is nothing to say.
I wish I would count again on Kayland support for next year, I have so much things in the program and I really need to trust my equipment as I do with your footwear. Thanks, Kayland. Peter Matura, mountain guide UIAGM.
Peter is rocking our Cross Mountain GTX, a real crossover between alpine tech and backpacking, which suits perfectly for his activities in Zermatt, and this is the reason why this model has been designed for mountain professionals. The upper is made with strong suede leather and anti-cut fabric for utmost resistance. Ankle Lock technology to enhance foot retention and stability. More tech features from the Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort membrane, providing waterproofness and breathability, and the dual density microporous wedge for a stable and cushioned ride. Then, the VIbram® Mulaz Evo outsole has deep lugs for traction on all surfaces, the best for mixed terrains.
