PATAGONIA | Claudio Migliorini leaves for Sud America
Our ambassador Claudio Migliorini, within a busy schedule of events especially focused on the icefalls, which see him organising numerous courses and targeted training days, he even managed to plan an expedition to one of the most fascinating destinations for climbing, Patagonia. Here are his words, filled with emotions, which tell us some more details about the adventure that is about to begin.
The Patagonian season is at the start, and it still does not seem true, but soon I will be on a plane bound for South America, destination El Chalten. It will be my first expedition to Patagonia, and I will be busy in those fantastic places until January 31st. With me there will be Giampaolo Calzà, alpine guide and photographer, and Denny Zampiccoli, alpine guide and manager of the Lausen Refuge. We have the hope of finding some windows of good weather, enough to do some nice repetition, mainly on rock. I am motivated and I leave with the awareness of taking everything to the day, and without setting too rigid objectives: there, it is the weather that dominates, and it will depend only on the conditions once on site to make more precise programs.
Of course in my mind there are some precise goals, but for the moment I decided to put them in a drawer, we'll see if I can extract them once we get under the walls of Argentina.
