SEB BOUIN ON THE BLUE WAVE | An unforgettable season in Catalunya
Seb Bouin sent us some words after his spring season spent on the walls of Oliana, in Catalunya. Here they are.
During this spring, I spent some times in Catalunya. I was climbing hard, discovering new places, and teaching rock climbing.
My climbing goal was to send the mythical route from Chris Sharma "Pachamama" 9a+. I was able to do it quickly. So I challenged myself with another route, harder this time: "Mami Chula" a 9b. This route was sent only by the master Adam Ondra. After him there wasn't any repetition.
I spent many days in this route before being able to send it. This was the first repetition of the route, my first 9b grade route, and the first 9b done by a French guy!
Perfect icing on the cake, I finished my Spanish season with a last hard route named "Papichulo", 9a+. This is my best spring so far.
During this period, I had also the opportunity to discover new places, new crags, new projects. We walked a lot, around the mountains, and more precisely around Abella de la Conca. This place is a little paradise. We made some amazing footage there.
Between climbing hard and wandering around, I had the time to coach a group of 12 people around Catalunya during one week. It was a great experience to help them to evolve in their climbing. Sharing my passion is something really important for me. And share it in a beautiful place like Catalunya is even more exciting.
Every person is different, and trying to find the way of progression for all of them is a hard job. But it's super interesting and challenging.
Next step for me is training in France before the Norway. Big stuff is coming!
